Margot C
Founder and Lead Tutor
Margot is a Junior at Boston College studying Economics and English with a minor in Accounting for Finance and Consulting. Margot has an excellent academic record, haven taken 14 AP courses and 10 honors courses throughout her time at Lake Forest High School, from which she graduated Cum Laude and as an Illinois State Scholar. Margot has three years of experience tutoring peers at high school, college, through Varsity Tutors and privately. She primarily tutors in English, Math, and Standardized Test prep (ACT and SAT); she is most passionate about helping students conquer Standardized Tests, specifically the reading and writing sections. She works to help students excel on Standardized Exams so they can pursue their higher education goals. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading and believes that reading consistently is the key to elevating students’ writing and preforming well on Standardized Exams. Margot’s love for reading, and creative writing, has led her to draft a novel.Â
Laurel C
SAT, ACT, Math and Science Tutor
Laurel is a freshman and Rawlings Scholar at Cornell University and an honors graduate of nationally-ranked Lake Forest High School. She was awarded the Math departmental award, finished in the top 10 in Illinois state Math competitions and was the top-scoring Math Team student two years running. Laurel was a National Merit Scholar and Finalist, and member of National Honor Society and Cum Laude. She scored 1550 on the SAT (790M, 760V).
Laurel tutors all levels of math, ranging from middle-school algebra to differential calculus. She is former Senior Instructor at Mathnasium (4 years) with extensive private tutoring experience.
Laurel tutors extensively on SAT and ACT and completed 12 AP classes, earning 5s on all tests. She tutors on these AP topics:
- AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus B/C
- AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics
- AP Literature, AP Language
Kate J
Math and Science Tutor
Kate is a freshman at Yale University after graduating as Valedictorian from Lake Forest High School. She has received 5s for all 6 of her AP scores she has received thus far, including Chemistry, Biology, Calculus BC, European History, US History, and English Language/Composition. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Cum Laude, and received the Lake Forest High School Social Studies Department award for her outstanding achievements in history and economics. She also competed at the IJAS State Science Fair where she received Gold Awards for her project. Kate has experience in the classroom as a TA for two years.
